Is There a Link Between Candida Albicans and Skin Conditions? Is there a link to candida albicans and skin conditions? This article by hitta frisör Varberg will hopefully go some way towards addressing this but first lets get some basic understanding about what it actually is. Candida Albicans also known as yeast infection, is what we call an opportunistic organism that is present in our skin and mucous membranes but can also travel through into our blood streams. They are called opportunistic because these fungi just lay in waiting for an attack and commonly manifests as oral thrush or vaginal infections.   As with acne and other skin conditions, there are a number of different factors that increase the stimulation of Candida Albicans growing out of control, such as refined carbohydrates which include sugar, white flour. One of the biggest and leading causes of candida is the overuse of antibiotics. But is there a direct link between candida albicans and skin conditions? Note that the candida can grow like a plant and break through your intestinal walls so that it feeds toxins directly into your blood stream. Candida growth is encouraged when your blood pH is acidic so you should avoid eating a lot of acidic forming foods. The acidic environment enables the Candida to grow faster which secretes more mycotoxins into your blood stream, burdening your body’s elimination organs even more. Controlling Candida alone can have a significant effect in the reduction of acne formation and other health conditions. Overall Candida cohabits with the many types of bacteria in our bodies, some of them keeping the balance to keep candida from flourishing. With the overuse of antibiotics, it can in fact destroy our friendly bacteria which allows the yeast infection to flourish. Medical experts say that fungi invade only when our immune system is low, but we know this to be not entirely accurate, as candida can still thrive in someone with a relatively strong immune system, but the weaker the immune system is, the quicker it can take hold and spread to other parts of the body and organs and consequently compromising our overall health. Is your candida problem (yeast infection) causing your acne outbreaks? There are some cases where people have both candida infections and acne outbreaks but neither is causing the other. Oftentimes, adverse reaction to contraceptives and other synthetic medications can cause either of the two as well. Medical science experts have not established a link between these two conditions and prescription drugs used for each problem are different. What to do in case of candida infection or acne outbreaks? Most people would seek the advice of their doctors when confronted with issues regarding health, regardless of what plagues them. This is well and good as most of these medical practitioners have sufficient training to deal with what ails us. However, we should remember that prescription drugs are synthetic in nature and its prolonged use may cause side effects that may be, more often than not, harmful […]

Acne and Traditional Chinese Medicine /acne-and-traditional-chinese-medicine/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=acne-and-traditional-chinese-medicine /acne-and-traditional-chinese-medicine/#comments Wed, 07 Mar 2012 12:18:25 +0000 Editorial Team /?p=1591 If you have ever tried Chinese herbal medicine you will know that it can help with a variety of conditions. This article talks about the causes of acne and how it can be treated with herbs and acupuncture which has been proven to very effective.   According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) there are several different types of Acne. It is not simply a single disease that requires a uniform treatment. Two major factors are taken into consideration: one is the person’s body type or constitution, and the other includes all of the different external influences which affect the development of the disorder such as diet, environment, climate, life-style, mental and emotional state and medications. Each individual’s body has different strengths and weaknesses and different tendencies towards imbalance. Often two people will react in completely different ways to the same thing, e.g. eating a bar of chocolate or being exposed to hot, humid conditions such as we have in Spain. Therefore the TCM practitioner aims to understand the root of the problem (which is the individual’s basic constitutional make-up) as well as to distinguish which particular type of Acne the patient has. Get all the details about Chinese medicine for acne here   Like many natural treatments that aim to treat the cause of acne, Chinese medicine is also based on the same theory. This is good to hear as anything that is happening on the skin is a sign of something wrong on the inside. You don’t just treat the symptoms of acne you also must find and treat the cause.

Diet and Acne – New Evidence To Prove That Diet Does Matter /diet-and-acn/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=diet-and-acn /diet-and-acn/#comments Mon, 20 Feb 2012 21:22:07 +0000 Editorial Team /?p=1320 This does not come as a shock as we have stated this and so have many other skin experts. We agree 100% that diet is a major contributor to acne and other skin conditions. Weight is also another factor which is covered in this news article.   Acne can begin in adulthood, too, with the majority of cases – 75 per cent – occurring in women. Many people who’ve battled acne attest that certain foods aggravate their skin. Yet most dermatologists contend there’s no scientific link between diet and acne. The prevailing view is that the food-acne connection is a myth. Recent studies are, however, challenging this stance. Dairy products and high glycemic foods (e.g. sugary foods and those made from refined flour) have been shown to worsen acne, while omega-3 fats may alleviate it. Read the full news article now It’s not surprising that this is all starting to get peoples attention as this information has been a shared opinion for many people inclusing acne sufferers, but as always, doctors and dermatologists seems to think they know better given their medical backgrounds. Maybe now they will start to listen more and take notice of what the patient is saying. What do you think about this?

Acne and Weight Gain – Study Shows That Being Overweight Increases Chances of Getting Acne /acne-and-weight-gain/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=acne-and-weight-gain /acne-and-weight-gain/#comments Mon, 20 Feb 2012 15:36:07 +0000 Editorial Team /?p=1314 A recent study has found that there is an increased probability of teenagers and young adults getting acne if they have a high body mass index (excess weight). I think there needs to be more research into this but it’s an interesting article none the less.   Teenagers and young adults may be able to prevent acne by stepping on the bathroom scale. Over the years, researchers have found that weight gain and moderate to severe acne — a problem that affects about one in five teenagers — go hand in hand, particularly among young women. While it is not entirely clear why, excess hormones most likely play a role. The most recent study highlighting a link was published this month in The Archives of Dermatology and included roughly 3,600 teenagers. The researchers looked closely at their weight and its relation to their skin, factoring in several variables that could also play a role, including age, puberty and diet. High-sugar junk foods like candy and soda are not only linked to weight gain, for example, but are also known to worsen acne. Read the full story   It’s claimed that one of the factors of this is due to increased androgen levels that is caused by obesity. This is a definite possibility as fat tissue plays a part in converting weak androgen into stronger ones which can actually trigger acne. What are you thoughts about this article and do you think it carries much weight…? (don’t laugh to loudly)
