So on to the matter at hand… dealing with your acne on your own.

One of the biggest worries for most acne sufferers is how they can manage acne on their own. Some often think that doctor prescription and hospital medication are the only way of treating acnes. However, this is not true as there exists ways in which you can take care of the situation by yourself.

This may appear to be quite a lot of potential causes but fear not, the likelihood is that you have already eliminated some potential causes  just by reading the above list.

On your own, you can decide to focus on natural home treatments that are often more preferable than using medications as they are safe and pose no danger to your skin or health unlike acne medications.

There are many home therapies that help to unclog blocked pores, killing of skin bacteria and reducing the production of skin oil.

One of the best ways of unclogging the pores is ensuring that you wash the infected area with warm water to ensure that the pores of the skin remain clean and free of dead sin cells and excess oil that could block the pores.

Warm water also enhances the even distribution of the sebum across the skin and therefore reduces the chances of clogging. While washing your face with warm water, it’s advisable you use a clean sponge as a dirty one may enhance even more bacterial infection and do you more harm than good.

We have all squeezed a spot at some point in our lives, but do try to resist the temptation of popping or scratching acne pimples. Doing this will only cause more bacteria to enter into the skin through the nails.

Antibiotics believe it or not, should be avoided because they can actually cause more problems than good. When constipation happens, a build up of toxins occur due to your body not being able to get rid of waste that it does not want. Toxins then enter into your blood stream and gets pushed out through through the skin and results in an ance skin breakout.

As we have stated before, any skin condition including acne, is your bodies way of getting rid of toxins and is its way of letting you know that something on the inside is not right and needs attention. Always listen to what your body is trying to tell you. Anything that is going on with your health, is your bodies way of telling you that something on the inside is out of balance. Your body is a complex and amazing piece of science, make sure you look after it!

As with cosmetic makeups, always keep this down to a minimum and opt for using water based makeup instead of oil based as this can clog the pores which can lead to acne and pimples. Better still, dont use it at all, you may look better without it.

Stress and depression have also been linked to ance and other skin complaints, but stress is not just mental and emotional, it can also be physical. When our body undergoes any kind of stress, the adrenal glands go into overdrive and cause an increase in the production of androgen hormones which can lead to acne.

So learn to chill out and relax and even do some light exercise which is the best way to eliminate stress as it gets the heart working and gets more oxygen directed to your brain which reduces the stress response. Try to do this at least 3 times per week.
